“Both male and female Rainbow Swallowtail fish have a yellow-green base color. The male fish’s lower abdomen displays a bright and beautiful yellow hue. Additionally, the male’s dorsal fin and anal fin are transparent with a narrow yellow border. The pectoral and pelvic fins usually have a slight orange-red tint. The caudal fin appears somewhat dark with distinct wide yellow and narrower black edges on the top and bottom. The female’s caudal fin has a slight yellowish tint; its pectoral and pelvic fins are transparent. Moreover, the outer edge of the female’s second dorsal fin also has a slight yellow hue.”
