Brief introduction of morphological characteristics:
The Pearl Butterfly is a commonly bred variant of the Lake Tanganyika cichlid. As juveniles, they have a blackish body speckled with many light blue or white small spots, but as they mature, the colors representing their youth will disappear, replaced by a blue-black body color complemented by white or yellow vertical wide bands below the dorsal fin. However, the juvenile fish color will be maintained for almost a year, during which it is aptly referred to as the “Pearl Butterfly.”
